Right now, I have to say that I was most impressed with the last remake of King Kong.

The movie was longer than the original or the first remake, with Jessica Lange, treating the viewers to better character development.

The dinosaur stampede was hilarious, in its own way.

What is your favorite remake, to date?

I've never seen either of the King Kong films - I've put the new one on my 'to watch list' - I think everyone seems to have a 'to watch list'.

One of my favourite remakes, actually I love both of them - Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) was remade in 2005 as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

It's quite interesting to see the advances in film between two that follow the same general storyline.

Take a look at Wikipedia's list of film remakes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_film_remakes

I didn't like the remake of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. If I were to state a good remake, I would have to say The Mummy.
